Mindful Eating 101: Your Beginner's Guide to Happier Meals
Ever polished off a big bowl of snacks and then suddenly realised you emptied it? Perhaps as you watched your favourite cartoon, or were visiting on the phone while eating. Next thing, the food is gone, and you have hardly savoured it. And that is why we do more mindless eating when we eat mindlessly, because it seems to be rightly (after all).
Mindful eating is the opposite. Eating with mindfulness and attention. Which means, do not eat fast, savour each bite, each scent, each taste, each texture of your food. When you indulge mindfully, the meals become not just more enjoyable, but you also never regret them.
And teachings that are ridiculously simple to teach yourself, how to eat mindfully.
What is Mindful Eating?
Eating with mindfulness means eating with awareness—sitting around — no television, no gaming, no hurry — just hanging out. You nibble, nibble, bite, chew, and savour every moment. You also listen to your body. The kind of questions of “Am I hungry?” and “Am I full now?”
This approach certainly makes you more mindful of what you consume. You love it more and are more conscious of what your Body craves.
Why is Mindful Eating Important?

You enjoy your food more. You really taste each bite.
You will never eat more than you need because it is easy for you to tell when your belly is full.
Eating here is serene.
They relish every food found on your plate.
Over time, you begin to learn what foods feel good in your body and what foods feel bad.
This type of eating is also beneficial to the body because it is masticated, and it has a reasonable period of digestive time. It prevents you from having a bellyache or overeating.
How to Practice Mindful Eating
P.S : Does not require any tools or special class. Today would be a good day to practice mindful eating. Just follow these easy steps.

Step 1: Sit down at the table
So just make sure that you are sitting comfortably. Do not laze on your feet, walking or lying down.

Step 2: Turn off screens
The best way, keep phones, tablets, TVs, or any screen away. Do not include other guys in what you ordered; your food is one meal.

Step 3: Look at your food
Good, now pause and observe the PROJECTION (the food type for stuff you eat before you eat) of your food. What colours do you see? What does it smell like?

Step 4: Take small bites
Avoid stuffing your mouth. You eat and chew more when you consume less at a time.

Step 5: Chew slowly
Well, put it through our chewing function — or 10 before the intake. Notice the taste and texture. Is it soft or crunchy? Sweet or salty?

Step 6: Listen to your body
Check in with yourself, Are you still hungry or, Are you starting to feel satisfied Never clean your plate Stop eating when you feel full.

Step 7: Say thank you
Locating the food, like your mother cooked it, or a farmer is harvesting the food. This appreciation helps you feel more connected to your food.
Great Way to Practice Mindful Eating
Here’s a fun little game—for instance, one piece of fruit, one raisin. When you see it, please take a good look before you eat it. What does it look like? What color is it? Smell it. Now place it in your mouth. Taste on the tongue only, don't chew yet. Then, chew slowly and try to savour all of the flavours. Enter this squishy little raisin, who will serve as your guide for the practice of mindful eating.
Mindful Eating is Not a Diet
Mindful eating seems to be associated with deprivation, with less food or being timid about rules. That is not true. Mindful eating is not a diet. I would also talk about how this route allows you to enjoy food and nourish your body and mind.
You can NEVER do it perfectly! Just start small. Try it for one meal a day. Which eventually becomes the default.
